Princeton TMS Institute at Princeton Medical Institute

Let us help you on your journey from depression back to being you.
Learn more about what we offer.

Here at Princeton Medical Institute, we provide Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy for depression, a revolutionary drug-free therapy for people suffering from depression or treatment side effects.

PMI is a part of Princeton Psychiatric Center, a psychiatric practice with two psychiatrists, Dr. Jeffrey Apter and Dr. Olga Tchikindas. Dr. Apter was an integral part of bringing Electro-Convulsive Therapy (ECT) to Princeton, and is proud to offer this next generation of neurostimulation therapy for depression.

Unlike ECT, TMS is non-invasive and non-systemic, making it a safer, milder treatment appropriate for many cases of treatment-resistant depression. TMS therapy does not require sedation and patients can drive themselves to and from appointments. Patients are awake and alert throughout treatment, and can listen to music, watch TV, or even use their cell phones while treatment is being performed.
